Adam Persichetti
Adam creates texture rich acrylic expressions through the use of various utensils and techniques designed to engage the viewers creative and imaginative thought to go beyond the literal forms of thinking. Adam draws much of his inspiration from nature, mood, travel, music, creative thought and life experience. Born and raised in rural Manitoba, Adam currently lives in Argyle, Manitoba where he finds much satisfaction painting in his home studio. In early 2023 Adam traded in his urban downtown loft studio in the heart of Winnipeg's Exchange District to move to a more peaceful and serene rural environment. Adam enjoys the beauty in all things "Art" but has a particular liking for two of Canada's most infamous abstractionists; Jean-Paul Riopelle and Paul-Emile Borduas. Adam considers himself a self-taught artist however he did a brief period of study in 1999 at The Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Fabrik Series
The building is imagined as a living fabric—stitched together through memory, commerce, migration, industry, and daily ritual.
The title Fabrik operates as a dual reference:
- - Fabric, representing the woven social and architectural texture of the city.
- - Factory, referencing the district's mercantile and industrial history that shaped downtown Toronto's urban character.
Each artwork in the series abstracts the idea that architecture is not static masonry but rather a textile continuously rewoven by its occupants.
Together, the series reflects both the physical architecture of the building, its colour palette, layered textures mixed with a small use of vibrant colours throughout to blend the theme from its historic mercantile past with a cosmopolitan spirit and modern-day vibe.
